BASEMENT CONVERSIONS

James and his team have just recently completed renovation work on our new home. The house was extremely dated, so required a new kitchen, new bathroom, as well as a lot of other work (knocking down a wall, moving an existing wall, changing a cupboard to a doorway, new boiler, changing a door to a window, installing French doors, removing a porch, new front door). From start to finish, the installation was seamless and completely stress free. On top of this, the work was completed on time! James organised all of the work to be completed by day, and managed the entire project. James put us in contact with Steve, the kitchen designer who listened to every aspect of our needs, and created a bespoke kitchen. Cannot rate this team highly enough - they are trustworthy, reliable, completes the work to the highest standard, and is constantly on standby to answer any questions. The house was always left clean and tidy. Overall, we are so impressed with the quality of the work, we will undoubtedly be having SPD back to complete further work on the house. Thanks so much!

At our initial meeting with James, we were able to explain what it was we were seeking and he was able to advise and make suggestions. We had a fantastic experience with SDP. James and his team knocked through our lounge and kitchen last year, this involved obtaining structural engineer's calculations, knocking through the brickwork, putting in steel support then arranging building regulation sign off. This was finished by 'making good' including plumbing a new radiator, re tiling the floor and re plastering. The work was carried out to the highest standard and from start to finish the process was smooth. What really impressed me was how specific James and his team were with the timeline of events and when they would occur so we could adequately plan ahead and his team are really friendly. We are already planning on using SDP again when we extend our kitchen later this year. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

"After hearing good things, I contracted James and his team to do some considerable refurbishment work on one of my student terrace houses. The property needed a full loft conversion, a refurb of the main bathroom, bedroom, and dining room, and a totally new kitchen. Not only that – but with it being a student property we only had the small window of the summer holidays to get everything looking tip top again in time for the new academic year. It was a tall order but the job was completed to highest standard and with complete efficiency from the whole team at SDP. I couldn’t be happier with the work. Everything was completed on schedule, and with total transparency from James about where we were at, at every stage. Because of the terms and conditions drawn up in advance, I knew the exact schedule of works. Payment was spread across the duration of the project and there were no hidden costs.  SDP also sourced the kitchen themselves, using my specifications – which was a massive weight off my shoulders. "We first met James when we went to view a house he refurbished on Cobnar Road, Woodseats. We liked him and were so impressed with the work his team had done that we didn’t need to think twice about who to call when we wanted an extension on the back of our house. "We recently used SDP to relocate our bathroom and the other rooms on our first floor. From the initial visit to the end of the build they understood what we wanted and worked with us to achieve it. They removed the existing bathroom and completely relocated it, including all fitting and plumbing, a new wall, doorway, skirting boards, and skimming the walls in the process. They protected the carpets throughout the work and tidied at the end of each day.  They had great attention to detail and the tiling in the bathroom looks fantastic. "Hair Salon Design Set Up. My Project was to set up a hair salon on the first floor of the striking and iconic ‘Sinclair Building’ in Sheffield City Centre. The Sinclair name itself is synonymous with quality, taste and a name ensconced in the history of Sheffield so the quality and finish of the project had to match the quality of the Sinclair’s store. SDP understood this from the start and James Clarke (Managing Director) project managed it personally from day one. The main reason I chose SDP was that I needed a diverse range of trades, joiners, plumbers, electricians, tilers and floor layers and SDP have highly experienced personal in house, who regularly work on “Blue Chip” projects..so I didn’t have to wait for a contractor to “fit me in” between jobs. The other unique factor for using SDP was that they also fabricate designs from stainless steel which was exactly what I wanted, as I needed shelving, sinks and panelling making to bespoke specifications out of metal. Working with James Clarke was an very enjoyable experience and I enjoyed the project immensely..there were no major problems, the project was finished bang on time and with no overspends!
